About Spirit Wind Center

The mission of Spirit Wind Center, Inc. is to cultivate spiritual hospitality that accelerates healing, activates creativity, and releases people to pursue their Divine design.

Spirit Wind CenterSpirit Wind Center’s light-filled studio and peaceful chapel provide a unique welcome for people to engage fully in healing and creative endeavors. Our offerings range from ancient spiritual wisdom techniques — such as dream interpretation, healing prayer, and spiritual direction — to an applied modern understanding of the creative call — including art parties, writing workshops and gatherings for artistic breakthrough.

The Dream

In 2010, Directors Jim and Lisa Leach dreamed about having a center that combined healing and spirituality with creative opportunities — a place where people could be unblocked. They envisioned a spiritual community that wasSpirit Wind Center Chapel plugged into the greater community — one with lots of time for play and for tuning into the Creative Spirit.

Building on their work in church, business and government, they began Spirit Wind Center for Creativity and Healing in 2012 by getting together with other creative professionals and praying over people in need of healing. The center grew into the original vision, became a fully incorporated nonprofit in the state of Connecticut in August 2014 and is now a recognized 501(c)(3).

Community At Its Best

Spirit Wind Center recognizes the importance of community at every level. That’s why we established our Partner’s Program. Right now 19 people have joined our family and support the vision of spiritual hospitality, healing and creative release. In addition, our studio is part of the historic Velvet Mill, a growing community of artists, Hospitality at Spirit Wind Cnetercraftspeople and small business owners in Stonington, CT. Our directors volunteer as tenant representatives and help with events in the Velvet Mill community throughout the year.

Also, Spirit Wind Center holds a membership with Fresh Connections of Mystic — a business networking and support group. In addition, our directors serve on the boards of other arts organizations throughout the region. Finally, Spirit Wind Center offers our services at several churches and community events throughout New England.
